About Me
In my role as a counselor, I aim to create an environment conducive to exploring a client's present behaviors, thoughts, and choices rather than solely focusing on the past. Together, we develop attainable goals while building a collaborative and supportive relationship to increase self-awareness. My belief is that every client has the tools for self-exploration and effective decision-making if they are able to explore their personal challenges in a safe environment.
I support individuals with various concerns such as anxiety, stress management, depression, trauma/PTSD, grief and loss, parenting problems, relationship problems, infidelity, and emotional abuse. When working with clients, I utilize several techniques to help the client tackle their issues or concerns by fostering self-awareness, exploring deeper issues, and utilizing evidence-based therapies such as cognitive-behavioral, reality therapy, or psychodynamic approaches. By adopting these specialized approaches, I can effectively address the unique needs and developmental stages, promoting positive outcomes and facilitating meaningful change.
I obtained my Master’s Degree in Clinical Counseling Mental Health program from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. I have two years of counseling experience working with diverse populations of adolescents and families. Currently, I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHC-A) in addition to being a National Certified Counselor (NCC) endorsed by the National Board of Certified Counselors. I also obtained a certification in Marriage and Families.
